May: the month of many marriages, including a Royal one!
We all love a good wedding, and here at Sayeh & Galton we feel privileged to be involved in so many. When we dress a beautiful venue in the morning, the excitement and anticipation are palpable.
We have a lot of fun planning – usually with our brides rather than our grooms – and seeing it all come together on the day is magical. We’re so lucky to dress the kind of venues we do too, such as Blenheim Palace, the Four Seasons Hotel and Claridge’s.
This year, our May brides have been going for beautiful floral creations featuring peonies (one of my favourites and so on-trend at the moment) as well as classics such as sweet peas, lily of the valley and garden roses. My bouquet of the month is made up of champagne-coloured peonies and coral double tulips; it’s delightful. Peonies symbolise romance and look soft and elegant, while the colour contrast makes the bouquet feel vibrant and sophisticated. Spring has sprung, and summer is within reach! We help our brides to select their bouquet based on their own body shape and on the shape of their dress so everything comes together perfectly.
While we’re on the subject of weddings, I have to say that the Royal wedding was, as you might expect, magnificent. Harry and Meghan looked incredible, and the flowers were out of this world, both opulent and plentiful. She went for the safety and elegance of white and green, but those lilies of the valley mixed in with perfect hand-picked English country garden blooms looked beautiful. It is clear that Meghan has impeccable taste and the choice also showed her willingness to adapt to her new British lifestyle. It was a thumbs up from us on the flower front! We wish them all the best for the future, they make a fabulous couple.
The other thing going on at this time of year is garden planning, which is one of my passions. There’s something so rewarding about coming up with a vision for someone’s garden and creating an outdoor space for them to relax in, entertain in and enjoy. We can’t wait to add a creative touch to loads of gardens this summer and make them look magnificent. Keep your eyes peeled and hopefully we will share some with you soon!
